Meet our devoted farm guardians

At Bluegrass Breeze Farms, our guardian livestock dogs are more than just pets; they are an integral part of our family and our farm's security. Discover the dedicated protectors who watch over our animals day and night.

Bluezette has served faithfully as a guardian for our livestock over the past 11 years. She's now semi-retired and enjoys her pets and afternoon naps.

Maggie is 5 and is a wonderful dog. She loves the goats, especially at kidding season when new babies are in the barn.

Kodiak is one of our new team members. At 3 months old she's already letting people know whose turf they're on.

Juneau is a full sister to Kodiak. While Kodiak is very outgoing, Juneau is quieter and more reserved. But don't let that fool you. She's been guarding sheep at her breeder's farm and knows how to do her job.

Breeds chosen for their dedication

We carefully select breeds known for their protective instincts and suitability for farm life. Our team includes two majestic Great Pyrenees and two spirited Karakachan puppies, recently added to our farm family. While our Rottweiler provides personal protection, our livestock guardians focus on their critical role.

Personalities built for protection

Our dogs are not only vigilant but also well-socialized. They are accustomed to farm life and, with proper introductions, will greet visitors warmly. Despite their friendly demeanor, their focus remains steadfast on their primary duty: protecting our animals. Even during a quick nap, their senses are attuned to their surroundings, always on guard.

"The decision to introduce guardian dogs to Bluegrass Breeze Farms was driven by a critical need for protection."
